Muluk Bahira Ma is the famous Nepali Novel by Writer, Novelist, Artist and Art Historian Lain Singh Wangdel which was first published  in Nepalese Literature Conference in Darjeeling in 2005 BS.
 
Muluk Bahira shows the stories of Nepalese migrant workers during and after the first and the
second world wars. In those time, Nepalese youths mainly from the hilly region used to go to Darjeeling, Aasham and other north-east cities of India for employment and they even moved upto Burma the present Myanmar. Most of these migrant workers used to leave Nepal every spring and return to Nepal before the winter, but many of them didn't want to go back to their villages in hills after they earned some money and settled around the cities in India and Burma. During the 2 world wars, many Nepalese youths joined the British Army and fought bravely. Many died and many returned home with name, fame and money.Many of the Gurkha soldiers had received the prestigious Victoria Cross medal during the war.
Muluk Bahira is the story of few general migrant workers Rane, Myausi, Dal Bahadur, Masisi, Maila Fujel etc. who at first moved to Darjeeling for job and later got struck in the city. Some of the characters lived their final days in foreign land due to misunderstandings and some even traveled to
Aasham, Culcutta and Burma because of the love, dream and several problems.
